Muphoria, London’s first and only permanent music art gallery on Berwick Street, Soho, proudly announces a special exhibition,Pride in Music, running from 6th June to 30th June 2024, in honour of Pride Month. The showcase uses art to celebrate the legacy of LGBTQ+ musicians and allies who have made significant contributions to music and the advancement of LGBTQ+ rights. The gallery will feature and sell pieces at various price points, ensuring accessibility for all music and art enthusiasts.

Emelle Smith, the gallery director and curator of Pride In Music shares – “As a proud member of the LGBTQ+ community, it’s a privilege to curate this Pride in Music art exhibition at Muphoria. We want it to be a heartfelt celebration of the musical icons and allies who have helped shape and colour the lives of the LGBTQ+ community, as well as a platform for some of the most exciting LGBTQ+ artists from around the world today.”

The primary objective of this exhibition is to create a safe and empowering space for celebration, to honour the courageous individuals who have helped pave the way for LGBTQ+ rights and visibility through their music and advocacy. The exhibition features works from notable LGBTQ+ artists, including Soft Cell’s Marc Almond, Roman Lokati and Charles Moriarty, famed for his iconic photograph of Amy Winehouse on her “Frank” album cover. Alongside, other renowned artists such as JJ Adams, Illuminati Neon, TBOY, The Postman, and Ghost.

A diverse array of artworks, including paintings, prints, sculptures, and photography will be showcased, featuring influential figures such as George Michael, Elton John, Freddie Mercury, Madonna, Britney Spears, Grace Jones, and Neil Tennant.

As part of the exhibition, Muphoria has partnered with Pride in London’s Unity Fund, which supports LGBTQ+ people through grassroots organisations. The gallery serves as both an exhibition space and a retail outlet, allowing visitors to not only experience but also take home these unique creations at a range of price points. A portion of each sale from the exhibition will go directly to the fund.
