In Crossplay by Jesse Morsberger, gaming and art collide in epic showdowns. Inspired by the concept of crossplay in video games —where players team up for gameplay—Morsberger explores the blend of real-life experiences with digital adventures. In this exhibition, Crossplay serves as a metaphor for life’s transitions, with Morsberger intricately weaving personal narratives of loss, love, and change into vibrant and humour-filled canvases. Through dynamic fight scenes, he confronts mortality while intertwining video game characters with personal struggles.

The centrepiece of the exhibition, ‘Crossplay’, plunges viewers into a video game brawl, where Jesse finds himself surrounded by characters from diverse gaming worlds. Suddenly, a fist wielding a paintbrush bursts into the scene, symbolising the clash of creation and reality. Don’t miss this unique experience where art, gaming, and humour collide, inviting viewers on a journey through life’s ups and downs.
About Jesse Morsberger
Jesse Morsberger, born in 1994 in Brooklyn, NY, is a talented artist who intricately explores the intersection of digital and physical realities in his sophisticated paintings. Graduating with a BFA in Drawing and Painting from SUNY Purchase in 2016, he has recently showcased his work in solo exhibitions, including ones in London and Beirut. For his solo exhibition at COVA Art Gallery, he unveils a collection of twelve works. Morsberger:”The period of time I spent working on this show was a transitionary and extremely taxing phase of my life. While working on these paintings, I experienced loss, I got married, and I moved across the country. Many of these paintings are fight scenes- video game characters, and me, wrestling with mortality.”
