Christina Arza Unveils Her First Photography Book ‘Slowly, Tenderly

In April 2024, Cuban American photographer Christina Arza will release her highly anticipated debut photography book, slowly, tenderly. This new book encapsulates Arza’s personal and artistic journey and showcases her profound exploration of self-expression through the lens of a camera. The book is accompanied with a letter written by Arden Sherman, Senior Curator of Contemporary Art at the Norton Museum of Art, followed by an in-depth interview between the photographer and Julie Dayer, from the Photo Elysée, Lausanne.

ABOUT CHRISTINA ARZA

Christina Arza, b.1989, is a Cuban American photographer known for her poetic and documentary-style imagery. Born and raised in Miami, FL, Arza’s work is deeply influenced by her Cuban heritage, nature, and the human experience. She holds an MFA in Photography, Video, and Related Media from the School of Visual Arts in NYC. 

She co-founded Steadfast, an arts magazine with contributions by artists like KAWS, Ryan McGinley, Austyn Weiner, and others. Arza’s work has been published in magazines such as Billboard, VICE, Rolling Stone, V Magazine, and Vogue. Christina has worked for numerous private commissions, most recently with world-renowned artist Michelangelo Pistoletto.
