From figuration to ceramics, the fair presents a rich cross-section of contemporary female-led practice—with prizes to support artists’ continued work.
Nearly 2,000 artworks submitted by more than 600 applicants have been narrowed down to 100 for this year’s Women in Art Fair. The final selection offers a compelling snapshot of what contemporary artists—particularly women—are thinking, feeling and creating at this moment.
Many of the works are figurative, exploring themes around the female form, family, motherhood and identity. Others lean towards abstraction, with a strong presence of sculpture and ceramics in this year’s group.

While most of the selected artists are based in the United Kingdom, the group spans a wide range of nationalities—from Japan to Palestine—and includes artists ranging in age from their twenties to their seventies.
“Our aim is to be as inclusive and diverse as possible with this art fair,” says Women in Art Fair Director and Founder Jacqueline Harvey. “Our mission is to break down those barriers that are still blocking true gender and race equality in the arts.”
All participating artists are automatically considered for the fair’s inaugural prize, which will be awarded on the opening night, 19 June. The top prize of £1,500 is sponsored by law firm Fladgate. Second and third prizes—£750 and £400, respectively—will go to artists the jury believes deserve direct support for their ongoing work.

This year’s judging panel brings together voices from across the art and culture landscape: Alison Mosshart, musician and visual artist best known as the frontwoman of The Kills and The Dead Weather; painter Vanessa Raw; and curator and cultural strategist Virginia Damtsa.
The fair will also host a series of talks and panel discussions. Highlights include Christian Levett, founder of the Femmes Artistes du Musée de Mougins (FAMM), in conversation with SEEN founder and commentator Carrie Scott; a talk by MyArtBroker on women printmakers; and a discussion on art collecting featuring Hall Rockefeller, founder of Less Than Half, and patron Rachel Verghis, founder of MarGin gin.
