The Knightsbridge landmark partners with British-Indian artist Natasha Kumar to unveil its first-ever Diwali lights, art installations and seasonal experiences.

The Festival of Lights, which falls on 20 October 2025, will be marked in store and online with a collaboration between Harrods and the British-Indian artist Natasha Kumar. Her designs, inspired by Indian heritage and executed in her signature layered style, will be visible throughout the building and on Harrods.com.

“My Diwali is synonymous with celebration, culture and colour,” Kumar said. “I was delighted to be invited to collaborate with Harrods on a design that will connect in so many different ways, not only in store but across the digital world and into the rhythm of everyday life.”

Kumar’s work draws on Mughal architecture and traditional motifs while using contemporary techniques such as monoprint, screenprinting and etching. The palette mirrors Harrods’ deep green and gold, offset with bursts of pink and yellow. Her recurring geometric patterns, such as the Jali lattice screen, are reinterpreted to suggest a global network of connection, while floral designs have been transformed into fireworks exploding in bold colours.

Alongside the artwork, Harrods will introduce a Diwali-themed range, including the Harrods Diwali Giftbox, a saffron milk cake and a new blend of Masala Chai Tea. The store will also host a series of events: a beauty masterclass with Kama Ayurveda; a wellness session led by in-house nutritionist Reshma Patel; and a conversation between pastry chef Ravneet Gill and chef Chet Sharma, who will sign copies of his forthcoming cookbook BiBi: The Cookbook — Stories from My Bibi (Phaidon).

The highlight of the celebrations will be the Knightsbridge façade itself. For the first time, Harrods will be illuminated in honour of Diwali, adding the glow of London’s most famous department store to the Festival of Lights.
