The first “Encrypted Shanghai” exhibition dedicated to digital art and NFTs will open at the Shanghai Himalaya Museum of Art on November 11, 2022. The exhibition will run for four days, showcasing the latest in Web3 technology and digital art.
The Himalayan Art Museum hopes to use the exhibition as a platform to promote change in the art world, and create a decentralized public art market on the blockchain that anyone can participate in. Guided by the spirit of Web3, “Encrypted Shanghai” provides a groundbreaking educational space for cutting-edge art that breaks down the barriers between culture and traditional and digital art forms.
The Art of Encryption: Seeing the Present
Web 3.0 is a relatively new concept with different interpretations in terms of technology and philosophy. Yet, the underlying spiritual notion is visible: “open collaboration and data sovereignty”. How we perceive its spiritual power in art practice and display is based on the development of art and the progress of technology.
Every significant change in art was inspired by the technological advancement of its time. In the past, art was always about trying to imitate reality, but now we have the tools to create entirely new realities. Yet the shift in attitude sets this era apart from any other. We’re not just using technology to create art; we’re using it to redefine what art is and who owns it.
Nowadays, people are satisfied with worldly things but also yearning for spiritual enlightenment. However, they often need help with the exhibitions’ preamble, which can be Obscure and hard to understand. The world of art has created a gap between the everyday person and the society it’s supposed to serve. This is due to the need for more aesthetic education. Even though this might be true, who can deny the existence of aesthetic hegemony?
Encrypt Shanghai is divided into Four spaces
The exhibition is divided into four corresponding sections. The first two sections invite and exhibit PFP and NFT Artworks that are leading the mainstream market of NFTs, directly showing the most groundbreaking power of crypto art. In the third and fourth sections, the exhibition reflects on the future development direction and prominence of NFT art creation. The third and fourth parts move into an aesthetic classroom of crypto art that stimulates the feeling and thinking power of the public with layers of space that produce organic connections with each other.
PFP & POAP section
Will feature many PFP & POAP works that break new ground and set the trend of NFT art, including many well-known domestic and international projects that were essential to the crypto art movement.
NFT Art section
This space focuses on leading digital artworks by independent crypto artists released on Ethereum and other mainstream blockchains. A fantastic yet stunning scene of “technology for truth” and “art for beauty.”
Independent Artists section
The “Independent Artists” section allows digital artists to experiment with new ideas and technologies. Through digital displays, hardware interaction and other diverse digital artworks, artists can communicate their vision for the future of digital art creation and development. By using encryption technology and WEB3.0 “decentralized” thinking, artists can create truly unique and innovative art.
Digital Collection
The Digital collection section is focused on more cultural and creative attributes based on the domestic Alliance Chain technology visitors can experience traditional culture and experience the new industry and vitality of Chinese museum collection and brand marketing digitalization.
