BEERS London presents SUMMER MARATHON PART II: DAVID NORO

BEERS London presents SUMMER MARATHON PART II: DAVID NORO OPENING 7th JAN

Summer Marathon Part II

7 Jan. – 28 Feb. 2021

David Noro, Shinuk Suh & Ehryn Torrell

The continuation of our SUMMER MARATHON (2020) takes a revitalised approach to the traditional ‘group show’, presenting 3 artists in back-to-back solo exhibitions (in lieu of one group show). Through this unconventional approach, each exhibiting artist is able to stage their envisioned solo show over a two-week period.

Due to UK-wide Covid closures from March to June 2020, last year’s Summer Marathon was truncated due to timing with only 3 of the 6 artists selected able to exhibit. Therefore, we will now revisit part two of the Summer Marathon in the first-half of 2021 with the remaining 3 selected artists.

David Noro ‘Fun (2020)

DAVID NORO: IF ONLY ONE COULD DISAPPEAR INTO THE REEDS LIKE A BURROWING TOAD [7-16 JAN]David Noro is a painter but other work categories include drawing, graphics, ceramics, and three-dimensional objects. Based on a personal archive of random words, texts, songs, and conversations, Noro relays fragments from every day which are poetically enshrined in his artistic practice. Central for Noro is that there is no preferred subject field.

Works are created with a momentary and relational mind-set, where motifs arise and are constantly matured. His works unfurl prosaic stories where villains, heroes, and simple characters freely perform in narrations that can appear equally banal and intellectually complex. Noro lives and works in Amsterdam & Copenhagen. He studied at The Gerrit Rietveld Academie and The Royal Academy of Fine Arts Antwerp.
