Artsy, the world’s largest online marketplace for discovering and acquiring art, has announced a series of significant benefit auctions aimed at raising much-needed funds for those affected by the recent wildfires in Los Angeles. Leading these philanthropic efforts is Artsy x Art Relief LA: Benefit Auction 2025, an initiative dedicated to supporting Grief and Hope, a relief organisation aiding those impacted by the disaster.
In partnership with Art Relief LA—a grassroots emergency fund established in response to the fires—Artsy is staging this high-profile benefit sale, featuring donations from more than 40 prominent artists. Contributors include Gilbert & George, Jake Clark, Ben Wolf Noam, Tancredi di Carcaci, Teddy Hansen, Jo Messer, Rodger Stevens, Kottie Paloma, and Adam Dix.

Esteemed Los Angeles galleries such as Clearing Gallery and Obsolete LA are among those lending their support. Additional participating artists represented by Artsy’s gallery network include Charles Long, Brian Rochefort, Jake Longstreth, Evamarie Pappas, Andrew Schoultz, Simmons & Burke, Walton Ford, and WarHo™. The auction, anticipated to generate a six-figure sum, will open for bidding on Artsy on Thursday, 20 February, and will close at 12 p.m. ET on Thursday, 6 March 2025, with 100 per cent of the hammer price pledged to the cause.
Reflecting on the urgent need for aid, Artsy’s chief executive, Jeffrey Yin, expressed deep concern over the devastation caused by the fires. “At Artsy, we are profoundly saddened by the destruction these wildfires have inflicted upon so many families, friends, colleagues, artists, and gallery partners,” he said.
“Having grown up on the West Coast myself, this cause is particularly close to my heart. It is essential that Artsy remains committed to supporting those affected, and we are pleased to play a role in the relief effort by organising this series of benefit auctions. By taking part, collectors and philanthropists alike will have the opportunity to make a direct impact on the lives of those in need.”
Beyond Artsy x Art Relief LA: Benefit Auction 2025, the platform has organised four additional auctions to further support the wildfire relief effort:
