Park Royal Design District Marks Fifth Year at London Design Festival

Park Royal Design District, London Design Festival, Park Royal

A free two-day festival in west London brings art, design and community together, with large-scale installations, open studios and hands-on workshops.

Park Royal Design District’s free two-day celebration of art, design and community promises an unmissable cultural moment within the London Design Festival 2025.

The non-profit, founded to support the area’s creative community, is now in its fifth year at the festival. Once an overlooked industrial zone in west London, Park Royal has undergone a striking cultural resurgence. Designated a Creative Enterprise Zone, it has become home to a growing cluster of designers and makers, many working in repurposed buildings that recall the district’s history in the automotive and food industries.

Circularity and sustainability remain central to its ethos. Studios across the district showcase inventive approaches to design, frequently employing reclaimed materials and industrial offcuts. Their work spans disciplines from millinery and leathercraft to glasswork, furniture, textiles and product design.

Grace Williams, PRDD Programme Director, says: “Visitors to the area are consistently
enthused and energised by the thriving creative community here. It is a prime example
of the important role artists play in authentically regenerating former industrial areas.”

The highlight of this year’s programme is 11 Million Dots, one of Europe’s largest artworks. Created by artist Rafael El Baz in close collaboration with local residents, the six-storey installation transforms the facade of Vantage Data Centers’ LHR21 facility. El Baz recorded ambient noise, machinery and more than 120 interviews with Park Royal’s community before translating them into a striking visual language that now stretches across the building.
