In partnership with art’otel London Hoxton, Art Meets Culture proudly presents “State Of The Art,” a dynamic keynote event offering access to some of the leading figures in contemporary art. This ongoing series of events will feature funding experts, renowned curators, emerging artists, and more, who will discuss curatorial practices, funding opportunities, and the future of contemporary art.
These creative experts will share their thoughts and experiences on how to navigate the art industry, providing valuable insights for artists, curators, and creative professionals alike. Taking place at the inspiring art’otel in Hoxton, the inaugural “State Of The Art” will include fireside panels with some of the most talented emerging artists in contemporary art.

State Of The Art will feature:
Xavier Laurent Leopold
Born in Sierra Leone and based in South London, Xavier Laurent Leopold is a multi-disciplinary artist, lecturer and author celebrated for his abstract portraiture and cubist explorations. His vibrant works, characterized by bold colours and a unique glow-in-the-dark effect, delve into themes of time, introspection, faith, and community resilience. Xavier’s artistic journey gained momentum during the 2020 lockdown, serving as both personal therapy and a source of escapism for audiences worldwide. He has showcased his art in prominent London exhibitions and alongside old masters such as Jean-Michel Basquiat in New York City. Notably, his book ‘Art For The Heart’ promotes mental health through creative expression and is housed in institutions like MoMA and Tate.
Alice Roseberry-Haynes
Operating under the alias Alice And The Ink, Alice Roseberry-Haynes is a London-based freelance multidisciplinary creative specializing in illustration, motion, and design. Her portfolio spans commercial, experiential, and editorial projects, with recent collaborations including the design and animation for Transport For London’s Cycle Sunday initiative and customizations for The Smiley Company’s Glastonbury flag. Alice’s work has garnered recognition from Creative Boom and has been showcased at prestigious venues like 180 Studios.
Ore Adedeji
Ore Adedeji, a portrait artist from Greater London of Nigerian descent, has made significant strides in the art world since starting her journey at age 16. Her distinctive portraits, which explore themes of heritage, legacy, and cultural contribution, have been featured in ELLE Magazine and exhibited at esteemed locations such as Tafeta Art Gallery and the Victoria & Albert Museum. Recognized as one of the “Top 10” future black leaders, Ore’s art scholarship journey led her to explore independent portraiture and contribute to the visual heritage and narrative of her community.

Hazel Hui (Hazel H Designs)
Founder and creative force behind Hazel H Designs in London, Hazel Hui blends her Hong Kong-Chinese and Polish heritage into dynamic fashion collections that merge streetwear with cultural narratives. Her global reach spans pop-ups, fashion shows, and collaborations in cities like Hong Kong, London, Warsaw, Tokyo, and New York. Hazel also pioneers 3D fashion projects such as ‘The Shapes of Emotions,’ enriching her exploration of personal identity and cultural expression through innovative design.
Tonye Ekine
Originally from Nigeria and now based in London, Tonye Ekine is an artist whose explorations of identity through art have resonated across various mediums. After graduating from the prestigious Camberwell College of Arts, Tonye’s exhibitions, including those at Shoreditch and Copeland Gallery, provoke conversations about authenticity and the complexities of human interaction. His collaborative efforts with brands like ASAR and his upcoming projects underscore his commitment to pushing artistic boundaries and engaging audiences through visual storytelling.
Emmanuel Unaji
Co-founder of Unaji & Co. and a graduate of Kingston University with a BA (Hons) in Fine Art, Emmanuel Unaji disrupts conventional portraiture with his innovative blend of collage, drawing, and painting. His work has graced renowned venues such as Le Carreau du Temple in Paris and London Fashion Week, where he explores the intersection of fashion, luxury, street art, and fine art. Recognized by Forbes and British GQ as a ‘new talent to watch,’ Emmanuel’s art challenges societal norms and perceptions while celebrating the African body and its socio-economic movement.
Sharon Adebisi (ARTBYADEBISI)
Sharon Adebisi, a UK-based artist, uses painting as a medium to explore her experiences as a Black British woman, weaving narratives of identity, heritage, and personal growth into her canvases. Her artworks have been exhibited widely across the UK and have been auctioned at prestigious institutions like Sotheby’s. Sharon’s participation in competitions like Sky Arts Landscape Artist of the Year and her solo exhibition with The Collective Makers X ArtHub Studios reflects her growing influence and dedication to sharing meaningful stories through art.

Stazzy
Born in Cyprus and raised in North London, Stazzy is a self-taught artist known for his community-focused projects and dynamic artistry. His journey through the art world includes exhibitions at notable venues like ArtMeetsCulture and Pictorum Gallery, as well as collaborations with Arsenal FC, where his tribute pieces have raised funds at charity events. As co-director of Ambitious Academy, Stazzy uses art to amplify voices within marginalized communities, exemplifying his commitment to social impact through creative expression.
