The Hepatitis C Trust’s incredible fundraising event, Art on a Postcard returns with a superb line up for their 2021 Summer Auction. The Art on a Postcard auctions have raised over three quarters of a million pounds to date, making an enormous difference to the lives of those living with Hepatitis C.

This year the trust is celebrating its twentieth anniversary, and the amazing achievements they have made over the years. Taking an innovative approach to charity work, it is a patient-led and patient-run organisation: most of their board, staff, and volunteers have had hepatitis C and have cleared it after treatment. The Hepatitis C trust works with individuals in the community, those in prison and those with addiction, providing all manner of counselling, medical and personal support.

Alongside this, they are working to eliminate the illness by 2025. They have also managed to galvanise over 190 countries to commit to Hep C elimination by 2030. Furthermore, their tireless work led to NHS England announcing an elimination deal with the aim of meeting a 2019 deadline.

I have been with the Trust for 17 of 20 years and I’m so proud of the work we’ve achieved, especially Art on a Postcard which has been my baby. This summer’s line up is cerebral and playful at the same time. There is something in there for everyone

Gemma Peppé, founder and director of Art on a Postcard,

To help celebrate this extraordinary feat the incredible line-up includes conceptual artist Anish KapoorJordan Wolfson whose enigmatic, and at times provocative, work investigates the darker side of the human condition. Art historian and instigator of The African Diva ProjectMargaret Rose Vendryes, has set out to celebrate and connect Black female singers with their ancestorial roots; Shezad Dawood whose multi-media works are inspired by his varied cultural heritage, revered urban contemporary artist Hush, Marina Adams whose work explores colour form and movement and Rana Begum whose work blurs the boundaries between sculpture, painting and architecture through her refined language of Minimalist abstraction.
